Fatal Butler County, Mo. tubing accident death of Truston Alexander
Butler County authorities announced that Truston Alexander, a 16-year-old, passed away due to his injuries on July 16. The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed Alexander’s death occurred on that date.
Identified by the Butler County Coroner, Jim Akers, the teenager was part of this tragic incident.
The accident transpired around 9:30 p.m. on July 15 at a private pond located near County Road 465 in Butler County, Missouri. According to the Highway Patrol, a boat was engaged in pulling Alexander on a tube. During the activity, he was ejected from the tube and collided with a submerged log in the water.
Medical personnel transported Alexander to a hospital in Poplar Bluff, where he was treated for serious injuries. Due to the severity, he was then transferred for further care to a facility in Memphis. Unfortunately, he did not survive.
Investigators noted that Alexander and the boat operator, who was also 16 years old, were not wearing life-saving devices such as life jackets at the time of the accident.
The Alexander family shared that Truston had a passion for recreational pursuits like golf, hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. He also participated in local teams for skeet and golf.
Akers has requested that the community offer prayers and support to the grieving family during this difficult time.
