Fatal Northport multi-vehicle crash death of Voncelle Renee Gamble
Northport authorities have confirmed the death of a U.S. Postal Service employee following a serious traffic incident involving multiple vehicles on Wednesday. The fatal accident occurred on Highway 43, located just south of the intersection with Highway 171.
The Tuscaloosa resident, identified by Northport police as Voncelle Renee Gamble, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 36 years old. Emergency services including Northport police, fire medics, and NorthStar Ambulance personnel responded to the single-car incident on the southbound lanes of Highway 43 at approximately 12:39 p.m.
According to Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter, four vehicles were involved in the collision. Three other individuals involved in the crash received only minor injuries. The Northport Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the cause of this deadly accident. Carpenter stated that no criminal charges are pending at this time.
