Brooklyn Park authorities reported an arrest several weeks after the fatal incident. Officials in Brooklyn Park stated that officers arrived at Lakeland Avenue North on July 1. They encountered a young female with severe injuries from a firearm. The Hennepin County examiner later confirmed the identity of the injured person as Zoe Kpanlin, who was from Elk River. The victim was transported to a hospital but did not survive.
According to an official announcement on Friday, law enforcement apprehended a man in Ohio. This man is associated with the fatal shooting incident. He is a local resident. The suspect was taken into custody at a correctional facility in Lorain County. He is being held pending transfer back to Minnesota.
