Fatal Victorville car crash death of Destiny Simon
Victorville authorities reported a serious collision between two cars on Saturday night that resulted in the deaths of one man and one woman. The fatal crash happened shortly before 8:50 p.m. at the intersection of Air Expressway and Rancho Road, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported.
First responders found the two vehicles had crashed in the westbound lanes of Air Expressway, officials stated in a written statement. A Google Street View image shows the intersection where the accident occurred.
The man driving the Honda Accord, whose identity was not immediately released, and 18-year-old Destiny Simon, who was a passenger in the Mercedes, both died at the scene from their injuries, according to the sheriff’s office and county coroner. A 19-year-old driver of the Mercedes was taken to a hospital but his condition was not updated.
The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team took over the scene to examine the incident, officials said. No additional information about the cause of the accident was shared.
