Fatal Butte car crash death of Duncan Brass
A pedestrian’s identity was revealed Sunday, following a fatal vehicle collision on Saturday morning in Butte. Officials announced the deceased was 39-year-old Duncan Brass of Butte. The Butte-Silver Bow Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity with the help of Butte police and the Montana Highway Patrol. Brass was hit and killed by a car around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday at the busy intersection on the city’s Flats, police reported. The driver involved in the accident fled the scene without stopping. The suspect vehicle and driver have not been located, and authorities stated the case was still being investigated as of Sunday afternoon. First responders pronounced Brass dead at the scene, according to Sheriff Ed Lester. Emergency personnel transported his body to the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula for a full autopsy examination.
