The authorities have officially identified the individual who lost their life as a young man named Miguel Angel Lopez, who was 24 years old. The police confirmed that Lopez was pronounced deceased.
Initial information gathered by the police indicates that they observed a specific vehicle, a black, four-door Hyundai automobile, being operated in a manner that was considered unsafe. This reckless driving was noted on the route along Lomas Del Sur and Zapata Highway. The officers involved attempted to pull over this vehicle, but when they tried to get closer to it, the person driving the Hyundai sped away from the scene quickly.
Subsequently, the police department received reports approximately some time later about a serious traffic collision happening on Highway 83 near Wooster Street. This incident involved the same black Hyundai that had been seen earlier. The vehicle had struck a utility pole, causing power lines to fall onto the ground.
