Investigators with Lafourche Parish are examining a deadly helicopter mishap that happened very early on Tuesday morning in a sugarcane area situated off Louisiana Highway 308, as reported by the New Orleans-based news station WVUE.
Around daybreak, emergency dispatchers received a distress signal at approximately 6:40 a.m. alerting them to the incident near mile marker 691 on that road. The event transpired roughly one mile away from the main highway on a piece of private land, according to the station’s coverage.
