According to information released by the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Leamon is recognized as the individual piloting the aircraft that encountered an accident. This occurred before dawn on July 22, involving a Cessna T188c. The lone occupant was Leamon. The aircraft crashed shortly after 9:30 a.m., landing in the 2800 block of W. Illinois Route 64. Emergency personnel discovered the specialized agricultural plane, a crop duster, consumed by fire upon their arrival.

Illinois Route 64 remained closed for an extended period as authorities investigated the scene and crews addressed the aftermath. Furthermore, ComEd dispatched teams to fix several damaged power lines caused by the incident.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are conducting a formal probe into the incident. A key component of the NTSB’s work involves maintaining communication with the victim’s family, providing support during this difficult time.
