Police confirmed the identity of a woman killed in a serious collision on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Alison Campbell, a 65-year-old resident of Caithness. The accident occurred near the Inverness Airport vicinity. Paramedics pronounced Ms. Campbell deceased at the scene around 15:30. The involved automobiles were a red Vauxhall Insignia and a white Ford Transit Tipper van. The 69-year-old driver of the Insignia sustained critical injuries and was transported to Raigmore Hospital for treatment. The van’s operator reported no injuries. Police Scotland has initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fatal accident. Sgt Kate Finlayson addressed the incident, stating the force extends condolences to Alison’s family and friends. She also encouraged any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to contact the authorities.
