In Florida’s Clearwater area, law enforcement authorities reported that a man has been formally accused of murder after Pinellas County officials confirmed he discharged a firearm and caused the death of a 15-year-old youth during the past week.

Available information from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office explains that Ahmad Albayati, who was 15, had a discussion with James Acosta, a 19-year-old, regarding the purchase of a gun. Law enforcement indicated that shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, Acosta fired upon Albayati, wounding him in the back and upper chest area, and then left him lying on Laurel Place in the 5300 block vicinity of Clearwater.

Further details from the county sheriff’s office state that Albayati was transported to a medical facility where his injuries ultimately led to his death. Subsequently, Pinellas County deputies apprehended Acosta on Thursday and completed the necessary booking process for his detention in the local jail system.
