Fatal Bronx stabbing death of Princesa Encarnacion-Soto

Law enforcement officials report that a mother in the Bronx is facing arrest charges while her 27-year-old son remains a person of interest in the girlfriend’s death. Authorities are investigating the brutal murder of the young woman, whom they suspect was tortured over an extended period.

The victim, Princesa Encarnacion-Soto, a 21-year-old woman, sustained multiple stab wounds and endured a hammer assault before being abandoned in a stairwell. Detectives confirmed she was left for dead on Tuesday during the incident.

Naida Jorge, the suspect’s mother, was formally charged with murder and manslaughter on Thursday. She faces accusations of cleaning the crime scene and obstructing the investigation. Her initial status as a witness changed after police detected a blood trail leading to her apartment, where officers found a collection of soiled garments.

Investigators believe Robert Strother held the victim captive in the family’s Bronx residence, binding her before subjecting her to severe physical abuse. The ongoing autopsy revealed evidence of both previous injuries and recent trauma.

The crime scene showed signs of cleanup, with no visible blood on the victim’s fresh attire. Detectives noted an unusual presence of strong cleaning agents in the area. The victim and the suspect’s father were previously involved in a romantic relationship that ended three years ago.
