Fatal Butler County car crash death of Alexa Miller

Officials from the Butler County Coroner identified the 17-year-old victim who passed away in Tuesday morning’s accident as Alexa Miller. Her death was attributed to head trauma from the collision, according to the county’s medical examiner report.

Emergency dispatches were activated at 1:39 a.m. on July 22 after reports of a single-car crash in the 2100 block of Ross Hanover Road. The involved vehicle, a 2014 Acura, was carrying two 17-year-old female occupants at the time.

Investigators with the sheriff’s department indicated that the driver lost control while traveling west on Ross Hanover Road, resulting in the vehicle veering off the left side of the roadway and striking a tree. Miller was pronounced deceased at the scene by first responders.

The passenger, another 17-year-old female, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital via CareFlight for treatment.

The ongoing probe by the sheriff’s office is examining whether excessive speed contributed to the incident, but initial findings suggest no involvement of drugs or alcohol.
