Fatal Milwaukee shooting death of Raymond Wilson Jr.
Police arrested Dominec Deshawn Gaines Jr. in connection with felony murder charges after his alleged accomplice died in an early morning incident. The shooting took place just before dawn near the intersection of Broadway and Juneau Avenue, close to the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
The authorities reported that a 21-year-old man, Raymond Wilson Jr., who is related to the Wilson family, was shot fatally in the chest. A 15-year-old boy also received injuries during this incident.
According to an official document reviewed by news channel TMJ4, security cameras recorded Gaines, Wilson, and the teenager approaching several individuals. The complaint indicates Wilson and the minor were allegedly holding firearms on the group, while Gaines tried to steal from one person by reaching into their pocket.
Further evidence from the video shows Wilson moving across W. Juneau Avenue and challenging a fifth person, seemingly pointing a weapon. As Wilson turned and started running back across the street, the other individual fired shots at him.
Law enforcement officials collected multiple spent cartridges at the scene. They also recovered a 10mm pistol that had been altered to fire multiple rounds automatically.
If convicted, Gaines could face a maximum sentence of 35 years behind bars.
