A 52-year-old male from St. Charles was involved in a serious accident this morning. The incident led to the temporary shutdown of a busy stretch of Highway 14.

According to information gathered by the State Patrol, Robert Warren Jackley was riding a motorcycle westbound on Highway 14 when he struck an eastbound pickup truck near the intersection with Chester Avenue Southeast. The collision occurred shortly before 11:00 AM.

The driver of the pickup truck, Daniel Lee Dittes, a 53-year-old man from Maple Grove, was not under the influence of alcohol. The crash report indicates no substances were involved.

Chester authorities reported the accident around 11:00 AM. The Minnesota Department of Transportation confirmed that Highway 14 was closed for several hours but has since been reopened.
