A 76-year-old man identified as Virgil Milby has died following a motorcycle mishap on Interstate 265 in Louisville on Tuesday morning.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Milby succumbed to injuries caused by impact, occurring at the New Cut Road overpass.
A video recording was available from the accident location.
The incident transpired approximately at 10:45 a.m., when Milby lost control of his motorcycle for an unclear reason and veered off the roadway.
Emergency personnel declared him deceased at the scene at 10:58 a.m.
No other motor vehicles were involved in the accident.
The coroner officially determined the fatality was accidental.
Crews shut down all eastbound lanes of I-265 for roughly three hours to handle the crash site.
