Fatal Jersey City street incident death of Joey Richburg
Officials from Hudson County are examining the death of 56-year-old Joey Richburg. He was found injured on a street in Jersey City on Friday morning and later died at a local hospital.
When law enforcement arrived at Neptune Avenue near Garfield Avenue shortly after 9 a.m., they located Richburg. Paramedics transported him to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was confirmed deceased at 9:42 a.m.
The cause and manner of Mr. Richburg’s death are still unknown. This information will become available after an autopsy is conducted.
No suspects have been identified by investigators. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the circumstances and asking anyone with information to call detectives at 201-915-1345.
