Law enforcement agencies in Hudson County are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the death of the 56-year-old Joey Richburg. He was located with apparent injuries on a Jersey City street on Friday morning and was then transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where medical professionals later confirmed his passing at 9:42 a.m.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after 9 a.m. on Neptune Avenue near Garfield Avenue due to a report involving an injured individual. Upon their arrival, they found Richburg at the scene and provided initial care before transporting him to the hospital.
The cause and manner of Richburg’s death have not been officially determined, as authorities await the findings from an ongoing autopsy.
