Fatal Washington County car crash death of Matthew Roth
A fatal car accident occurred overnight in Washington County, resulting in the death of Matthew Roth. According to the Washington County Coroner’s Office, the incident took place around 3 a.m., when a driver was traveling south on Route 481 in Carroll Township.
This driver, identified as 21-year-old Matthew Roth from Blairsville, lost control of their vehicle. The car subsequently collided with part of a bridge barrier at the intersection with Route 2023, the coroner’s office reported.
Following the collision, the vehicle ignited in flames. The coroner’s office stated that a passerby observed the crash and the wreckage, subsequently alerting the Washington County 911 center.
The coroner confirmed that Matthew Roth was pronounced dead at the scene. The Carroll Township Police Department is currently investigating the crash.
