Law enforcement personnel were dispatched to the area following a disturbance call reported shortly before the middle of the morning on Thursday. The incident happened near Champions Parade in Wollert. According to police investigations, a man was attacked and subsequently killed by another individual in an alleyway located behind a local house. The young man was pronounced deceased at the exact spot where he was located. News reports indicate the deceased was identified as 21-year-old Athan Boursinos. Security measures at a house in Melbourne’s outer region revealed two officers securing the area. Images captured at the Wollert location showed numerous roads blocked as authorities protected the alleyway where the body was found.
A high-level investigator with the police force suggested the act seemed very intentional and planned, making them consider a wide range of potential motives. The officer in charge stated they were investigating all possibilities. It is believed that the person responsible for the shooting left the area using a car. The police are also examining if a destroyed car, which was located on Amery Street in Reservoir not long after the initial shooting, has a connection to the fatal event.
