Fatal Waukegan hit-and-run death of Adrian Rogel-Villanueva.
Investigators from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office are seeking help to identify the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of Adrian Rogel-Villanueva, a resident of Waukegan. The authorities have pinpointed the truck involved as a maroon-colored 2017 GMC Sierra pickup.
According to the crash investigators, this GMC pickup truck is likely being kept somewhere, possibly a repair shop or a garage. It is reported that the front-end and the passenger side sustained damage from the collision.
Investigators suspect that the vehicle’s owner may have removed the license plates, meaning the truck might not have current plates or they might not match the vehicle’s official registration. Additionally, the truck might have featured two decals on the upper part of the rear window, although the owner could have taken them off.
Photographic evidence included in the official news release shows the actual GMC Sierra involved in the crash. The use of Flock Safety camera technology was instrumental in gathering information and developing the current leads in this case.
