Fatal Orangeburg County car crash death of Frederick McClatchie
The Orangeburg County Coroner’s office has confirmed the identity of the individual who lost their life in a traffic collision that took place on Saturday.
Officials are stating that the incident occurred on US 301, near Lachance Drive, around 1:40 a.m. on Saturday.
Preliminary reports suggest that a 2004 Chevrolet SUV, being driven at the time by Mr. McClatchie, lost control and crashed into a tree, resulting in the vehicle rolling over.
Law enforcement reported that the accident transpired approximately at 1:40 a.m. on Saturday along US 301, close to Lachance Drive.
According to authorities, Mr. McClatchie, who was the driver of the vehicle involved, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol has confirmed that the probable cause of death was the trauma sustained directly from the crash.
