Fatal Hornellsville plane crash death of Brian Valder
Hornellsville authorities reported a fatal plane accident occurring Friday evening on Morton Hill Road within the town limits of Hornellsville, located in Steuben County, involving State Police intervention. The sole individual aboard the aircraft at the time of the incident was identified as Brian Valder, a 41-year-old resident of Penfield.
State Police officials confirmed that Mr. Valder was pronounced deceased at the scene following the crash. Preliminary investigation details suggest the aircraft took off from the Brockport region before the accident, which state police reported happened around 7 p.m. on August 1st. Eyewitnesses and reports indicate the plane crashed in a wooded area located several hundred feet behind the Gospel Tabernacle.
Emergency services and State Police personnel remained present at the accident site well into the following day, staying on scene until Saturday.
