Fatal Canton shooting death of Braylon Foster
Canton law enforcement announced an arrest concerning the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old individual at a barbershop establishment. According to official statements, Braylon Foster passed away on Friday due to the severe injuries sustained during the incident.
Law enforcement sources indicated the shooting took place shortly after 3 p.m. at the Klipz Barbershop, situated on Mahoning Road NE. In a communication with emergency dispatchers, the establishment’s owner reported that a customer had been shot. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Braylon Foster suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Foster was transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital where, unfortunately, his condition deteriorated, leading to his death.
The identified suspect, Deontae McCollum, who is 25 years old, has been formally charged with the offense of murder and an assault charge. Canton police officials have confirmed the identity of the suspect as Deontae McCollum, 25.
McCollum is currently being held at the Stark County Jail facility. At present, no information regarding the suspect’s motive is available as authorities continue their investigation into the events that unfolded.
