Fatal Coryell County car crash death of Jeffrey Lynn Nevarez Jr.
Investigators are continuing their probe following a deadly collision on Highway 84 in Coryell County. The fatality occurred when a driver crossed into oncoming traffic, leading to a severe accident.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is examining the incident that took place on Thursday, July 31, later that evening. The crash happened a short distance east of Gatesville. According to preliminary reports, a Kia Stinger collided with the rear of a truck that was pulling a trailer carrying livestock. The Kia driver, identified as 21-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Nevarez Jr., from Waco, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The circumstances behind why the Kia driver entered the opposite lane remain under scrutiny. No other people were hurt in the collision. Authorities informed Nevarez’s relatives about the accident. The case is still being actively looked into.
