The Jones County Coroner has identified the man whose body was discovered in Jones County this week.
The Jones County Sheriff’s Office is leading the ongoing death investigation concerning James Ray Labat, who was 52 years old.
Labat’s remains were located in the woods situated near a residence on North Pumping Station Road in Ovett.
According to Coroner Burl Hall, the case remains under investigation, and no autopsy has been performed pending the results of a toxicology test.
