Law enforcement officials confirmed that John Joshua Isome, a 35-year-old man, died as a result of a shooting incident that occurred during the late evening hours of Tuesday in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.
The precise location of the shooting was identified as the 2000 block of Mohawk Place.
According to the Cincinnati Police Department, officers responded to reports of a violent incident around 11 p.m. on Tuesday. Their investigation determined that Mr. Isome sustained gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
Initial information released by the police department to WLWT incorrectly identified the deceased as a 50-year-old individual.
Cincinnati police indicated that preliminary findings suggest the suspect transported the victim and subsequently shot him inside the suspect’s vehicle, which was discovered at the scene. At this time, authorities have not disclosed any details regarding the suspect.
Furthermore, police officers involved in the case stated that a firearm was recovered inside the vehicle at the crime location. However, the preliminary assessment by investigators remains unclear as to whether this specific weapon was the one utilized in the shooting incident.
The ongoing criminal investigation includes a review of surveillance footage from nearby businesses and cameras in the vicinity, as requested by the Over-the-Rhine division of the Cincinnati Police Department.
