Fatal Cedar Co. car crash death of Loretta Frana
Investigations into the tragic incident in Cedar County revealed one person lost their life Thursday afternoon. The collision occurred around 2:12 p.m. at an intersection involving Highway 30 and Taylor Avenue. A car, which was turning onto Taylor Avenue from the eastbound Highway 30, was struck from behind by a commercial truck. The force of the impact caused the passenger car to leave the roadway and land in a ditch. Emergency responders confirmed the driver of the vehicle did not survive the accident. Authorities have since confirmed the victim is 59-year-old Loretta Frana.
