The Pigeon Forge Police Department confirmed Friday that a woman struck by a motor vehicle has passed away. Officials reported the incident occurred around 6 p.m. at the intersection where U.S. 441 crosses Dollywood Lane. The pedestrian involved was identified as 58-year-old Daisy Valenzuela Vines, who resides in Ooltewah. Chief Richard Catlett stated she was crossing the street when the collision happened.

Further information indicated that Ms. Vines was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center following the incident. Regrettably, her health deteriorated at the medical facility, leading to her death.

Once the probe is concluded, the gathered evidence and details will be formally submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for potential review.
