Law enforcement officials have officially named the individual killed in a fatal shooting incident occurring inside a lodging facility in the North Portland area as 41-year-old Philip Edward Redmon.
According to police records, responding officers arrived at the Super Value Inn situated on North Interstate Avenue close to Killingsworth Street shortly after 7:50 p.m. on Monday. Their arrival confirmed the death of a man who sustained a fatal wound from being shot.
Upon reaching the location, authorities noted that any individuals suspected of involvement had departed the scene prior to their arrival. Further examination by a medical examiner concluded that the cause of Redmon’s death was homicide.
This incident marks the 25th fatality attributed to unlawful killing in Portland this year, placing it alongside the 48 similar deaths recorded during the same period in 2024.
