Fatal Columbus’ North Side shooting death of Chad W. Thomas Sr.
Columbus law enforcement arrived promptly at 8:18 p.m. on August 18 to a disturbance reported on Ambleside Drive, situated in the North Side region near Killdale Drive. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a man deceased on the ground, suffering from a serious injury caused by a gun. Dispatch reports confirmed the fatality was the result of a shot wound.
The individual identified by Columbus police as the deceased is Chad W. Thomas Sr., who was 51 years old. Subsequently, the authorities apprehended a man named Antwan D. Thomas, who is 26 years old. Charges of murder are now being considered against Antwan D. Thomas in connection with the death of Chad W. Thomas Sr.
The incident transpired in a mixed residential area characterized by homes and apartment buildings nearby the Devonshire Park location. Ambleside Drive itself is a long and winding road extending between Schrock Road and East Dublin-Granville Road. Police have indicated they have not yet determined if a relationship exists between the two men involved.
