Jose Vasquez dies in fatal San Antonio shooting
Fatal San Antonio shooting death of Jose Vasquez
Law enforcement officials in San Antonio are working to identify the second person killed in a violent incident on the city’s West Side earlier this month. According to KSAT-12, Anabelly Licett Vasquez, who was 28 years old, succumbed to her injuries on the previous Saturday. This tragic outcome comes after Jose Vasquez, who was 44, passed away following a gunshot wound sustained late on the evening of August 10. It has been confirmed that Vasquez is the son of the suspect, Wilfredo Lopez.
A third individual, Jasmin Cruz, is currently receiving medical treatment in a hospital. Her condition remains unknown as investigations are ongoing. The shooting is reported to have taken place in the 300 block of Altitude Drive. Police indicate that a disturbance occurred prior to the shots being fired, though no information has been released about the circumstances that led to the altercation.
Initially charged with murder and aggravated assault after his apprehension on August 11, Lopez’s charges were subsequently enhanced by the San Antonio Police Department. Following Anabelly’s death, Lopez was formally accused of capital murder involving multiple victims. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has also confirmed that Lopez is being held under an immigration hold issued by ICE.
