The Rockcastle County Coroner’s office has officially identified the person who died in a serious house fire connected to Mount Vernon.
It is reported that Lois Marie Bowman, who was 73 years old, was discovered deceased on Sunday morning. The incident happened at a house located on Davis Street. Her body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Frankfort for further examination.
Mount Vernon Police along with the Kentucky State Fire Marshal’s office are working to determine what started the fire.
Family members state that the victim’s dog also perished in the fire. To help with the funeral costs, a fundraising page has been set up through GoFundMe.
