Fatal San Antonio drowning death of three-year-old Lorelai Garcia
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has officially identified the toddler who passed away during a weekend birthday party drowning incident. The child, three-year-old Lorelai Garcia, was pronounced deceased on Saturday afternoon. The medical examiner has not yet determined the official cause or manner of her death.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, emergency personnel were dispatched to a residence on Pleasant Knoll around 6:22 p.m. Following a report of a child in distress after entering an in-ground swimming pool during a gathering. The child was reportedly playing with other guests at the party when the incident occurred. Authorities noted the young girl was not wearing a life jacket during the event.
Paramedics provided telephone CPR guidance to the on-scene responders while initiating emergency protocols. Medical personnel attempted resuscitation at the location before transporting the toddler to a regional hospital. Despite the hospital’s best efforts, the child was pronounced deceased at approximately 7:43 p.m. that same evening.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirms there is no indication of criminal activity related to this unfortunate incident.
