Fatal Kings County car crash death of Marisa Gomez
A 21-year-old woman has died following a collision involving two motor vehicles in Kings County. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
The individual identified as Marisa Gomez was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Her companion in the vehicle suffered only minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
The incident occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of 16th Avenue and Lacey Boulevard. This location is situated in the rural area between the towns of Lemoore and Hanford.
According to the CHP, a Hyundai Santa Cruz, driven by a female, was proceeding westbound on Lacey Boulevard. The driver was approaching the junction with 16th Avenue when a second vehicle, a Ford Mustang being operated by another woman, crossed into the path of the first car and failed to yield. The Mustang was struck on its driver’s side, leading to the Hyundai occupant, Marisa Gomez, losing her life upon arrival at the medical facility.
