Law enforcement officials state that two people, one being the person responsible, have tragically lost their lives following a late night shooting at a medical facility in Enid. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, alongside the local police department, is currently examining the circumstances of this incident on Monday.

The unfortunate event began shortly before the late hour of 11 p.m. on Sunday, originating from a residence near East Walnut Avenue and North 12th Street, a location geographically close to the hospital. A few moments later, law enforcement managed to trace the suspect’s motor vehicle to the hospital premises. Upon arrival at the healthcare facility, officers discovered the suspect parked near the main entrance. During an attempt to communicate with the individual, the suspect opened fire on the arriving officers.

According to state investigators, the accused subsequently entered the hospital building and discharged multiple rounds, resulting in the death of a security personnel member. Following this, the Enid police force proceeded inside the facility and took action, ultimately leading to the suspect’s death. No other individuals sustained injuries in this tragic incident. Integris Health has issued a statement confirming the identity of the deceased victim as Public Safety Officer J.W. Bode, who was 72 years old. The statement also described him as a devoted father to three children and a caring grandfather.
