Law enforcement confirmed that two individuals lost their lives following a watercraft mishap on the Tennessee River. This tragic event transpired at Riverfront Park, located in Colbert County, Alabama, late Saturday evening, specifically around 9:15 p.m. local time, as reported by NBC affiliate WAFF.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) disclosed that an aluminum fishing boat collided with a commercial towing vessel. This collision caused the two people aboard the smaller boat to fall into the water. According to ABC affiliate WAAY and the Trussville Tribune.

One of the men was located deceased at the site of the incident. The other person was not found right away. However, the second body was eventually recovered on Monday, the 18th of August, as stated by WAAY.

Officials have officially identified the deceased individuals as William Michael Sandlin, who was 63 years old, and Edison Kim Wallace, who was 66 years old. This identification was reported by both WAAY and WAFF.
