State officials announced Monday that law enforcement agencies are examining the circumstances surrounding the death of a 67-year-old individual discovered injured by stabbing and shot in his home within the Canaan region over the past weekend. The victim was William Colao.
According to a statement released Monday, officials from the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office reported that Canaan police were dispatched to a residence located on Sawyer Hill Road on Sunday evening due to concerns for William Colao’s safety. Upon entering the property, responders found William Colao deceased, with preliminary observations suggesting he had suffered a stab injury.
Further examination confirmed by official sources revealed that Mr. Colao sustained several stab wounds along with a gunshot wound affecting his head area. These findings led authorities to determine that his passing constituted a criminal homicide incident.
