Louisiana authorities reported a deadly one-car accident Wednesday night, August 20, in the Geismar region. Acadian Ambulance services announced the death of one person following the incident.

The collision occurred at night, around 11 p.m., on the eastern section of I-10 at the intersection with LA 73 in Ascension Parish. Officials stated the vehicle, driven by Clyde Butler, a 77-year-old from New Orleans, lost control on the road.

Clyde Butler’s car swerved off the road, collided with the guardrail and a bridge railing, and flipped multiple times. Louisiana State Police confirmed Butler was partially thrown from the vehicle and did not survive the impact.
