Fatal Phenix City car crash death of Trevor L. Woods
Officials report that a 23-year-old man has lost his life in a serious vehicle collision in Phenix City. The incident occurred on Monday, August 18, 2025, when the driver’s vehicle departed the road and collided with a tree, subsequently overturning near the junction of Fontaine Road and 6th Place South.
Law enforcement sources state that Trevor L. Woods, who was behind the wheel at the time, was not secured by a seatbelt and was pronounced deceased at the accident location. Arrangements for a postmortem examination are in progress for later in the week.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirms that Woods was operating a 2015 Dodge Challenger during the incident. Additionally, authorities indicate he was engaged in an attempt to evade law enforcement personnel while driving. Prior to the crash, Woods was the subject of a pursuit involving officers from the local Phenix City Police Department.
This traffic incident is currently being examined by the ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division. At this point in time, it has not been determined whether any other individuals were affected or involved.
