Fatal Phelps County car crash deaths of Wallace R. Martin, Randall R. Franklin, and Justin M. Mason
Post-mortem examinations for the three adult males who were fatalities in Friday evening’s multiple vehicle collision, which happened at the junction of HWY 6/34 and Road T within Phelps County, have now been finalized. Consequently, the office of the Phelps County Attorney has prepared to make the identities of those individuals involved in the incident public. The three adult men discovered deceased by emergency medical services personnel inside the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck involved were:
Wallace R. Martin, 67 years old, from Holdrege
Randall R. Franklin, 36 years old, from Funk
Justin M. Mason, 34 years old, from Arapahoe
The final autopsy reports for these three deceased persons are currently unavailable as they await the results of supplementary forensic tests, which usually take approximately four to six weeks to finish.
The driver of the F-250 pickup truck that was part of the collision has been confirmed as:
Brock W. Schneider, age 35, from Axtell
According to the most recent information, Mr. Schneider remains hospitalized and is reported to be in serious condition.
The driver of the Chevrolet Suburban that was involved in the accident has been confirmed as:
Alyssa K. Kahle, age 35, from Minden
Ms. Kahle is also still under medical observation and is reported to be in serious condition. As previously stated in our initial announcement, a minor child passenger in Ms. Kahle’s vehicle incurred no injuries and was released from the healthcare facility in Minden on Friday night to be with family members.
The inquiry into the Friday night accident is still in progress but is progressing rapidly and meaningfully. Officials are currently examining video recordings of the incident, along with data from the crash reconstruction, medical documents, and witness testimonies in an effort to ascertain the reason for this tragic occurrence. Investigators anticipate that their initial analysis findings will be shared with the Phelps County Attorney’s Office within the next couple of days, which will help determine what transpired and whether any charges are required.
