Fatal Burson car crash death of Kassidy Ketcherside
Law enforcement authorities in Burson, California, have confirmed the identity of the individual killed in a serious highway incident last weekend. The deceased person is identified as Kassidy Ketcherside, a 38-year-old resident of Jackson. Earlier news reports had mentioned this single-car accident, which occurred on Saturday morning, August 16th, around 10:22 a.m. on Highway 12, located west of Carmel Drive in the Burson region of Calaveras County.
Emergency medical services personnel arrived at the scene and discovered a 2011 Honda Accord sedan that had crashed and come to rest in a nearby field. Inside the vehicle, Kassidy Ketcherside was found injured, prompting immediate medical transport to Mark Twain Medical Center. Regrettably, medical professionals later determined that the injuries were fatal.
According to statements gathered by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), several independent witnesses observed Kassidy Ketcherside driving eastbound on the highway. It remains unclear whether the vehicle was being operated at an excessive speed at the time of the incident. The driver lost control and the sedan left the roadway, subsequently crossing a fence. The CHP reported that the vehicle sustained multiple impacts during its roll, resulting in the ejection of Kassidy Ketcherside.
Investigators are currently examining the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident. A significant aspect of their ongoing investigation involves determining whether any influence from alcohol or drug consumption played a role in the driver’s loss of control or the subsequent crash. CHP officials have indicated that the incident is still under active investigation as they work to establish the full facts of the matter.
