Fatal Bronx car crash death of Dilmania Lopez de Rodriguez.

Investigators discovered a pedestrian fatally struck by a motor vehicle in the Longwood area of the Bronx during the early hours of Tuesday.

According to law enforcement, a 32-year-old female was located on Bruckner Boulevard and Leggett Avenue at approximately 12:10 a.m.

The deceased has been identified as Dilmania Lopez de Rodriguez.

Preliminary findings from authorities suggest the driver was proceeding north on Bruckner Boulevard in the outer lane when Lopez de Rodriguez was attempting to use a designated crosswalk.

Circumstantial evidence from available surveillance footage indicates a scooter positioned on the driver’s side just before the incident, followed by the vehicle executing a turn that resulted in the fatality.

One local resident observed, “Traffic moves so quickly around here. They rarely stop for pedestrians, forcing many to dash across the street.”

Lopez de Rodriguez was found on the road surface and transported to Lincoln Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed her death.

A family representative stated the 32-year-old mother and wife was returning home from her work shift when the accident occurred.

Circumstances surrounding the event raise questions about whether the operator of the vehicle perceived the collision or failed to take necessary actions to prevent it.
