Louisiana state law enforcement confirmed the fatal vehicle collision involving a missing resident from Jeff Davis Parish. The incident occurred approximately at noon today, with authorities locating the body in the central barrier separating I-10 and the adjacent access road, situated just east of U.S. 165.

Officials identified the deceased as a 53-year-old woman, Bonnie Signorelli Fontenot, who had been reported missing earlier this week. Her last known whereabouts were at the Lost Shoes RV Park, which is located near the community of Lacassine.

Investigators from the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office have concluded their initial findings and have transferred the case to the Louisiana State Police for further examination. According to the agency, an unidentified automobile approached the scene on the frontage road and struck the victim before the driver departed the area. Ms. Fontenot did not survive the impact and was pronounced dead at the location.
