Fatal Ogden car crash death of Dylan Champion, 24
Ogden authorities announced the identity of the motorcyclist killed in a recent one-vehicle collision over the weekend. Ogden Police Chief Travis Gray confirmed that Dylan Champion, a 24-year-old resident of Hamlin, was operating his motorcycle northbound on Washington Street at a high rate of speed. The incident occurred just south of the Ogden-Parma Town Line Road around 9 p.m. on August 24th. Gray stated Champion was attempting to negotiate a curve when he lost control of his motorcycle, which subsequently collided with a guardrail.
The lone rider was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical personnel. Eyewitnesses, who were driving in the vicinity, immediately stopped to provide assistance. Local law enforcement, including Monroe County sheriff deputies, Spencerport firefighters, and paramedics from Gates Volunteer Ambulance Service, responded swiftly to the location.
According to Gray, excessive speed was identified as the principal factor contributing to the tragic outcome of the accident.
