Fatal car crash death of Guillermo Soto Briceno
Official authorities have officially identified the man who died as a result of a serious traffic incident on Saturday morning. The individual was a 43-year-old man named Guillermo Soto Briceno, who resides in Portland.
According to the information gathered, Mr. Briceno’s body was located in the Columbia River region after the accident happened near Northeast Marine Drive and Northeast 122nd Avenue. The identification process was handled by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office. They have informed his family about this tragic event.
Emergency services were dispatched at approximately 8:01 a.m. on August 2nd because of a reported guardrail failure and a vehicle that had overturned in a shallow part of the river. When the police officers arrived at the scene, they found that the car was empty.
A coordinated search and recovery operation was initiated by the Portland Fire & Rescue, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office River Patrol, and the U.S. Coast Guard to find the missing driver. The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team was also brought in to investigate due to the fatality.
Eventually, the vehicle was taken out of the water. No other people were located inside the car.
