Fatal Stow car crash death of Lazaro Abraham Sousa Swartz
Police reports indicate that Lazaro Abraham Sousa Swartz, a nineteen-year-old from Maynard, passed away on Saturday after a vehicle collision resulted in a fatality. The incident occurred when his automobile struck a tree and subsequently overturned.
Emergency responders were dispatched to Crescent Street just before daybreak on August 23rd due to a single-vehicle accident. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Lazaro’s Lexus sedan engulfed in flames. First responders confirmed that Mr. Swartz was deceased at the scene.
Investigators suggest the preliminary findings point to the car striking a tree near a residence on Crescent Street, leading to the vehicle rolling and then igniting. There were no indications of other vehicles involved in the incident.
Lazaro Abraham Sousa Swartz was born on June 22, 2006, to Maynard residents Kevin and Raquel Swartz, as stated in his documented obituary. He completed his secondary education at Maynard High School in 2024 and held a position at Market Basket. According to the same obituary, his family includes his parents and his sibling, Joshua Swartz.
Funeral arrangements have been set for Lazaro Swartz. Visiting hours are scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Slattery Funeral Home in Marlborough. A memorial service will follow on Wednesday, September 3, at 10:00 a.m. at the IEPD Pentecostal Church in Hudson.
