The Champaign County Coroner, Laurie Brauer, officially stated that the person killed in the incident was Michael L. Huffman, a 45-year-old from Champaign, Illinois.
Coroner Brauer confirmed the identity of the deceased during an official announcement.
Mr. Huffman was pronounced dead at the scene located on Prairie and Maple Streets shortly after 7:02 a.m. on that day.
A medical autopsy has been planned as part of the ongoing investigation into his death.
