A 31-year-old man, identified as Jamarcus Dewayne Doggett, has been formally charged with murder after allegedly causing the death of Wesley A. Agent, a 44-year-old individual. Local law enforcement confirmed the arrest following an investigation that gathered sufficient evidence to hold Doggett accountable for the homicide.
The stabbing incident, which led to the victim’s death, occurred outside a birthday celebration event during the early hours of Saturday morning. Police received a 911 dispatch around 2:30 a.m. reporting a disturbance in the 900 block of Glenn Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an adult man, later confirmed to be Agent, had been taken to a regional medical facility due to serious injuries, specifically multiple stab wounds.
At the hospital, medical staff pronounced Agent dead shortly after 3:15 a.m., as he could not overcome his severe injuries. Authorities then focused their efforts on apprehending the suspect, who had departed the scene of the incident. After tracking Doggett to a close-by residence, police questioned him; however, initial reports indicated no immediate arrests due to ongoing inquiries.
