Madi Thornton, who is currently expecting a baby girl, has a background in veterinary nursing. Under her former name, Madeleine Scott, she achieved international recognition for Australia, competing in the 2016 Paralympics in Rio and earning a silver medal in the 4x100m medley relay event. She also secured individual medals at the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow and Gold Coast.
