A 37-year-old identified as Roberto Barraza was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision on Saturday night in Long Beach, authorities reported. The fatality occurred when an SUV driver, Frank Andrade Jr., was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. The incident happened at approximately 9:01 p.m. on August 30th at the intersection of 11th Street and Redondo Avenue.
According to Long Beach Police, investigators determined a 2010 KTM motorcycle, traveling south on Redondo Avenue, collided with the 2006 Toyota Sequoia that was heading east on 11th Street. Long Beach Fire crews responded to the scene, but fire department initial reports mistakenly identified the motorcycle rider as female before police confirmed the identity of the deceased.

The Sequoia’s driver, Frank Andrade Jr., 33, of Long Beach, was at the scene and provided information to officers. He was arrested and transported to the Long Beach jail to be booked for suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. Bail for Andrade Jr. was set at $101,781.
